Strong Women - Strong Choices: Women in the Bloodline of Jesus
|
| This four-part series is not exclusively on women, or for women,
but for all who are looking to seek a better understanding of Jesus,
the Son of God, who had a human genealogy that included some
interesting women. |
| Tamar, the first woman mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus, is the
daughter-in-law of Judah, the leader of one of the 12 tribes of
Israel. Her story can be found in Genesis
38 and is filled with lies and deception, yet God still found
her worthy to be a part of Jesus' bloodline. We'll see how God used
her story for His glory. |
| Rahab, the prostitute, helped the Israelites conquer the city of
Jericho by befriending the spies sent ahead to scout the city. A
prostitute, in Jesus' genealogy? What is that all about? Her story
can be found in Joshua 2. |
| The story of Ruth is often referred to as a love story, but it is
also a story of tragedy, great risk, and an interracial marriage.
See how God works out his plan of redemption through these lives.
Read her story in the book of Ruth. |
| Bathsheba, King David's wife and the mother of Solomon, is the
last woman mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus. How can God redeem
this story of adultery, deception, murder, and the loss of their
first child? Her story is found in 2 Samuel:1 1-1, 2. |
