Here at SFC, we believe that as a church we all need to be
"Bridge Builders" between families touched by disability
and the church community. That means removing all barriers for those
families to enter into the church.
In the past several months, we have been working hard to
integrate children with special needs into our Sunday school
programs. In addition to our regular programs, we were able to host
an event designed to provide a time of respite for parents with
children with special needs.
On Saturday, December 9, from 9:00 to 12:30 pm, we had eleven
children and their brothers and sisters join us for a day of fun,
crafts, games, and a special visit by the Saratoga Fire Department.
It was a great day, and every volunteer caregiver was blessed by
these incredible children.
Below is the testimony of one of our elders, Jackie Hester, about
her incredible experience that special morning.
At the beginning of this past Christmas season, I received an early
gift! It was the Spirit of Christmas witnessed in magical moments at
the Bridge Builder's Respite Day. While happy parents headed out to
spend precious "alone time," our church transformed into a
joyful, bustling, caring, safe and efficiently run
"extraordinary play date" for their kids.
And then, there was Noelle... a little beauty who stole my
heart... clapping, dancing, cuddling... and allowing me a window
into her life.
I left that day refreshed and renewed, as I hope her parents did,
and carrying my gift in my heart.
"He who refreshes will also himself be refreshed." -
Proverbs 11:25
-Jackie Hester
"Sometimes in the least expected moment, love slips in giving
birth to peace and joy."

If you have a child or teenager with a special need we invite you to
contact one the of the children or student ministry staff members.
We will then have our intake team talk to you about your child's
needs and then we will set them up with a buddy to help them in
their Sunday School Class. Please feel free to fill out the intake
form and we will get started in helping your child connect at SFC.
If you would like to volunteer to help in this important ministry
please contact a staff member.
