Village Preschool

About Us

Village Preschool began in 1962 when Frances Richmond began nurturing and caring for young children, first in her home and then at Saratoga Federated Church a year later. From then until now it has been a warm, nurturing and highly-respected early childhood program. It is designed to help each child have a happy and successful start in his or her education before the formal school process begins.

Village Preschool is staffed by dedicated, experienced teachers whose concern is not only for the children but their families as well. The teachers' goal is to provide the children with opportunities for "hands-on" discovery and a joy for learning. Our program is based on Christian principles, where the goodness and uniqueness of each child is appreciated and nourished.

Our school offers programs for children from the ages of 2 years and 9 months (toilet trained) to the start of kindergarten. We have carefully planned for a physical environment that is stimulating and attractive, which includes outdoor activities as well. We offer an inclusive program, when it is mutually determined by both the parent and staff that we can adequately support the progress of each child. Village Preschool’s philosophy is one that respects and acknowledges the differences of each child. Our teachers are here to assist the child and to help them overcome obstacles in the learning and growth progress as well as build on each child’s strengths.

We celebrate each
and every child.

We support the
belief that a child's
success comes from
experiencing success.

Our goal is to develop
a strong sense of
self-confidence and
self-esteem
in each child.
